Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our fast-paced healthcare team. Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to determine urgency and prioritize care.
- Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and other treatments following established protocols and safety standards.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
- Manage airway interventions, ventilator support, and aseptic techniques during emergency procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection, processing, and interpretation of results such as ICD coding and lab reports.
- Provide acute pain management, trauma care, cardiac catheterization support, and infectious disease care tailored to individual patient needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and coordination of post-acute or home care services.
- Demonstrate proficiency in triage procedures to prioritize patients effectively based on acuity levels in accordance with NCQA standards.
- Support specialized areas such as pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health, or neonatal resuscitation procedures as needed.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining strict confidentiality of patient records and medical documentation.
Experience
- Proven experience working in emergency medicine within a Level I or Level II trauma center environment is highly preferred.
- Critical care experience including ICU or PICU settings enhances your ability to manage complex cases efficiently.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner is essential for accurate documentation and communication.
- Demonstrated proficiency in advanced skills such as suturing, catheterization (urinary or vascular), tube feeding management, and ventilator operation.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities is advantageous.
- Knowledge of infectious disease protocols, infection control practices, and hospital medicine standards ensures safe patient care delivery.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) is required.
