Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Companion to provide support and assistance to individuals in need of care. The ideal candidate will have experience working with people with disabilities, including autism, and will be skilled in providing companionship, personal care, and assistance with daily living activities. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our clients by ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Duties
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients in various settings, including home care, nursing homes, memory care facilities, and group homes.
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure compliance with medication schedules.
- Support clients with mobility needs, including lifting or transferring them safely as required.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by adhering to hygiene standards and safety protocols.
- Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Uphold confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA regulations regarding client information.
Experience
- Previous experience as a caregiver or companion is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with memory care practices and medication administration is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare providers.
- A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to lift and assist clients safely while maintaining proper body mechanics.
- IHSS worker or willing to enroll.
Candidates selected for employment will be required to provide:
- Current TB test/clearance
- Current CPR certification
- Physical examination/medical clearance Valid driver's license
- Social Security card
- Current DMV driving record
- Current vehicle registration and proof of auto insurance

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
