The Radiation and Electromagnetic Effects Group, 1310, is seeking an R&D Science and Engineering Manager to lead the Electromagnetic Systems and Qualification Department.
With focus on electromagnetic (EM) environments, the EM Systems & Quals Department (1313) provides analysis, design guidance, and experiments in support of nuclear weapon qualification in normal, abnormal, and hostile environments, as well as research and development for advanced electronics that can operate through these environments.
On any given day, you may be called upon to:

Ensuring that NNSA customer needs are satisfied safely and securely through managing and coordinating specific deliverables

Establish priorities to manage workload.

Understand the capabilities of your organization and connect the work and expertise of your staff with partners and customers

Coordinate and represent departmental work and capabilities across the laboratory

Build, maintain, and leverage trust-based relationships with critical partners across the laboratory

Champion and manage staff development, including hiring, onboarding, professional development, recruiting, and performance management, consistent with the mission of the organization

Identify and champion innovative approaches and continuous improvement opportunities to enhance the quality, efficiency, and impact of departmental products and services

Manage a Classified Workstation including a VTR and specialized IT assets and support team

Promote and lead fundamental and applied research projects
Due to the nature of work, the selected candidate must be able to work onsite.
