Duties
- Greet customers warmly and ascertain their needs to recommend suitable products
- Educate customers on product types, effects, dosages, and consumption methods through engaging product demos
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately for retail sales transactions
- Handle cash register operations, including cash handling and cash drawer balancing with retail math skills
- Maintain stock levels by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and conducting inventory counts
- Upsell products by highlighting new items or complementary accessories to enhance customer experience
- Conduct product demos to showcase product features and benefits effectively
- Ensure compliance with all legal regulations regarding age verification and sales procedures
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting remote customers
- Assist with merchandising efforts to create attractive displays that promote featured products
Skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and engage diverse customers
- Previous POS experience and proficiency in retail sales transactions
- Supervising experience in retail or similar environments is preferred for leadership opportunities
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve a broader customer base effectively
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, including cannabis strains, edibles, concentrates, and accessories
- Experience with stock management, merchandising, and inventory control processes
- Skilled in upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities
- Basic math skills for cash handling, balancing registers, and retail math calculations
- Excellent phone etiquette for professional customer interactions over the phone or via online chats
- Familiarity with cannabis industry regulations and compliance standards is advantageous
