Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared safely, adhering to food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new ideas and refining existing dishes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and workstations
- Support meal preparation for catering events or special functions as needed
- Follow proper knife skills for efficient and safe food cutting, slicing, and chopping
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and high-quality food presentation
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar kitchen role within the food industry
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques
- Excellent knife skills with the ability to efficiently prepare ingredients
- Familiarity with dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to work quickly under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, catering, and serving is highly desirable
- Good communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and front-of-house staff
