Join our dynamic team as a CDL Driver position at Ramshorn Construction involves the safe and compliant transport of construction materials, heavy equipment, and aggregates to and from local job sites across Wyoming. Drivers play a key role in supporting asphalt, concrete, earthwork, and underground utility operations while maintaining strict adherence to safety and DOT regulations, and must have minimum 2 years of driving
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles (Class A or Class B CDL) including dump trucks, water trucks, and heavy transport trailers safely within active construction environments.
- Transport construction materials, aggregates, and heavy machinery to and from job sites efficiently and on schedule.
- Perform thorough daily pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting and reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately.
- Ensure all cargo and heavy equipment are properly loaded, chained, strapped, and weighted in compliance with DOT safety standards.
- Maintain clean driving records and follow all company, local, state, and OSHA/MSHA safety protocols.
- Assist ground crews, heavy equipment operators, or shop mechanics with manual labor and utility tasks when not actively driving.
Skills
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience with tractor-trailer operations preferred. MUST HAVE 2 YEARS VERIFIABLE EXPERIANCE
- Proficiency in driving different types of trucks including flatbed, tanker, dump truck, and roll-off trucks.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, and hazardous materials regulations to ensure safety and compliance.
- Experience with route driving using GPS navigation systems for efficient delivery planning.
- Skilled in manual transmission operation and manual handling techniques for cargo management.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely while following logistics cargo handling procedures.
- Familiarity with automobile transportation processes and delivery driving best practices for over-the-road routes.
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record and current Medical Card.
- Proven experience driving commercial vehicles in construction, earthwork, or heavy civil operations.
- Ability to safely navigate commercial trucks on uneven, tight, or congested job sites and rugged terrain.
- Must successfully pass a mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
- Reliable work ethic, good communication skills, and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
