Elite Scholars Academy is looking for an energetic, child friendly, flexible, dependable director. The director must be willing to meet state requirements within six months of hire date to be eligible. The center Director will be responsible for setting the tone for the facility in both leadership and creating and maintaining family atmosphere.
Additional Responsibilities include:
- Curriculum Development: The director will work with qualified center staff to develop and or implement an appropriate curriculum based on center standards.
- Facilities Management: The director will make sure that the center's physical facilities comply with local, state and federal laws and are a safe and appropriate environment for children. The director needs to know local, state and federal laws regarding safety requirements and inspection and certification procedures, and ensure that the center complies with those requirements. The center director also evaluates and purchases equipment and supplies for the center or approves requests to purchase materials and equipment.
- Staffing Management. The director will develop job descriptions, interview candidates, maintain staff development and education and, if necessary ,implement disciplinary measures. The ability to manage people and work well in team settings is a must. The director ensures that all staff meet the requirements for their jobs; for example, the director orders staff background checks and confirms that necessary licenses are valid. The director is also responsible for maintaining their own qualifications.
- Parental Communication and Involvement: The director serves as the 'face' of the school, managing communication with parents and the community. The director develops policies for the school and communicates the policies to parents. The director may also meet with parents of prospective students to determine whether the school is a good fit for the family.
- Financial Responsibilities: The director is responsible for the financial management of the center. The director will develop budgets, manage the accounting and oversee accounts payable and receivable. The director also develops the marketing plan for the center, developing public relations and advertising campaigns as necessary.
- Other duties may include:
- supporting teachers by filling in or helping in classrooms when necessary.
- Cooking and or cleaning when teachers or staff call in or the center is short staffed.
Pay will be based on qualifications and experience.

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
