Taco Villa is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. As a Prep Cook, you will play a vital role in our kitchen operations by preparing all food items daily, ensuring that every dish meets our high-quality standards and is made to specification by closely following our established recipes. If you are passionate about cooking and have a keen eye for detail, we would love to meet you!
- Prepare and cook food items daily, including but not limited to beans, meats, guacamole, salsa, and shredded cheese, according to our recipes.
- Follow recipes accurately without deviation to maintain quality and consistency.
- Accept constructive feedback on recipe execution and make adjustments as necessary.
- Effectively multi-task while preparing multiple dishes and ingredients.
- Adhere to all food safety rules and regulations to ensure a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized workspace, including proper storage of ingredients and supplies.
- Understand and correctly measure ingredients using various units of measurement (teaspoon, tablespoon, pint, cup).
- Stand for extended periods (4-6 hours) while performing kitchen duties.
- Lift heavy boxes and supplies, weighing up to 50 lbs., as required.
- Prior experience in food preparation or cooking is preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow recipes with precision and accuracy.
- Strong multitasking skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to food safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Must be punctual and reliable in attendance.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Willingness to take direction and learn new techniques as necessary.
- Must be able to stand on feet for extended periods (4-6 hours without a break).
- Must be capable of lifting and carrying heavy boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
