Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Nursing to lead our short-term rehabilitation and long-term care nursing departments within our skilled nursing facility. Duties
- Lead and supervise nursing teams across short-term rehab and long-term care units, ensuring effective shift management and staffing coverage.
- Develop, implement, and review individualized care plans for residents, integrating resident preferences and clinical needs.
- Oversee compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA, Medicare requirements, and state licensing standards.
- Manage medical records, documentation review, and electronic health record (EHR) systems to ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate resident care across assisted living, home health, hospice care, and acute care settings.
- Monitor quality metrics related to MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments and ensure timely completion for reimbursement purposes.
- Provide leadership in nursing administration by supervising staff performance, conducting evaluations, and fostering professional development.
- Oversee shift management to ensure adequate coverage while maintaining high standards of resident safety and satisfaction.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of physiology and anatomy to guide clinical decision-making and staff training on complex medical conditions.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in nursing home management with a strong background in assisted living, home health, hospice care, or acute care environments.
- Demonstrated supervising experience with a track record of effective nurse management and leadership in healthcare settings.
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and documentation review processes.
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems for accurate recordkeeping.
- Strong understanding of Medicare regulations, care plans development, and compliance standards including HIPAA privacy rules.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in medical records and documentation.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
