Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
Department: Production
Reports To: General Manager
Location: Milton (in person)
Job Description: We are seeking a diligent and skilled Industrial Maintenance Mechanic to ensure the smooth operation of our machinery and mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate will be proactive in performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and fabricating repair parts as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct preventive maintenance on welding units and leads, fabrication equipment, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, roller systems, and production machines.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions and locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
- Remove defective parts, dismantle devices, and inspect parts for necessary replacements.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using appropriate tools.
- Inform production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and monitor compliance to control downtime.
- Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories, anticipating needed items and expediting orders as necessary.
- Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
- Provide mechanical maintenance information and prepare reports on maintenance activities and trends.
- Stay updated on technical knowledge through reviewing publications and establishing networks.
- Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions and needs.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Proficiency in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair techniques.
- Technical aptitude and ability to work with precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to industrial maintenance activities.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Flexibility to work off-shift hours and overtime as needed.
