Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe changes in health status to ensure safety and well-being
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed care plans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking
- Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to safely transfer clients with mobility challenges
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities, observations, and progress in accordance with agency protocols
- Support clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s by implementing memory care strategies and providing compassionate companionship
Experience
- Prior experience working in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Hands-on experience with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, hospice care, or working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and maintaining confidentiality of patient information
- Experience using care plans to deliver personalized support tailored to each individual’s needs
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with healthcare teams and family members
