We are looking for a hands-on General Manager to lead our daily operations and help continue building one of the area's premier equipment rental companies.
Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of Round Bottom Rental. This role oversees daily operations, employees, customer experience, equipment readiness, fleet utilization, sales growth, and profitability.
This is not a desk job. The ideal candidate enjoys leading people, solving problems, helping customers, improving processes, and working around construction equipment.
ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop the team.
- Create daily work schedules and assign responsibilities.
- Hold employees accountable for quality, productivity, and customer service.
- Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new employees.
- Foster a positive, team-oriented culture.
Rental Operations
- Oversee all daily rental activities.
- Ensure equipment is cleaned, fueled, inspected, and rental-ready.
- Coordinate deliveries, pickups, and transportation.
- Maximize fleet utilization while minimizing downtime.
- Monitor equipment availability and scheduling.
Customer Service & Sales
- Build relationships with contractors and repeat customers.
- Assist customers in selecting the right equipment.
- Resolve customer issues quickly and professionally.
- Help grow rental revenue through outstanding service and local business development.
- Identify opportunities to expand customer accounts.
Equipment & Fleet Management
- Schedule preventative maintenance.
- Coordinate repairs with technicians and outside vendors.
- Track equipment utilization and replacement needs.
- Recommend new equipment purchases.
- Maintain accurate fleet records.
Financial & Business Performance
- Monitor revenue, expenses, and profitability.
- Review pricing and fleet performance.
- Help prepare annual budgets and capital purchases.
- Improve operational efficiency and reduce unnecessary costs.
- Track key performance indicators.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility.
- Ensure OSHA and company safety procedures are followed.
- Verify equipment inspections are completed.
- Promote safe operating practices for employees and customers.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of management or operations experience.
- Equipment rental, construction, landscaping, heavy equipment, or dealership experience strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working both in the office and in the yard.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and rental software experience is a plus).
- Valid driver's license.

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
