Job Summary
We're looking for a detail-oriented Warehouse Picker / Inventory Assistant to join our Petoskey facility. This role is responsible for accurately picking, packing, and staging medical device shipments, supporting cycle counts, and maintaining inventory accuracy within our warehouse management system. Because we handle regulated medical products, precision and the ability to follow documented procedures (SOPs) without shortcuts is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick, pack, and label customer orders per work instructions and shipping requirements (including carrier- and product-line-specific labeling)
- Perform receiving, put-away, and cycle counts; investigate and document any inventory discrepancies
- Maintain accurate transactions in the warehouse/inventory system (Fishbowl)
- Follow documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Distribution Practices required for medical device handling
- Inspect product for damage, expiration dates, and lot/serial number accuracy where applicable
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in line with quality system requirements
- Support internal/external quality audits by maintaining accurate, audit-ready records
- Communicate proactively with the Warehouse Manager on order issues, inventory variances, or shipping deadlines
- Operate basic warehouse equipment (pallet jack, hand truck; forklift certification a plus or trainable)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior warehouse, fulfillment, or inventory experience preferred (medical device, pharma, or regulated industry experience a plus)
- Comfortable with basic computer/scanner data entry; WMS or ERP experience (e.g., Fishbowl) a plus
- Strong attention to detail — this is non-negotiable given the regulated nature of the product
- Ability to follow written procedures precisely and flag deviations rather than work around them
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision once trained
What Sets a Great Candidate Apart
- Comfortable in a low-ambiguity, process-driven environment (we operate under ISO 13485 — consistency matters more than speed-at-all-costs)
- A "catch the error before it ships" mindset
- Willingness to document things accurately, even when it's tedious
