Trinity County Resource Conservation District is accepting applications for the position of a Part-time Bookkeeper. The position is part-time (16 to 20 hrs./week) and works under the direct supervision of the Director of Finance and Bookkeeper while also providing support to the Executive Director, Deputy Director, Grants Manager, and Program Managers. This position also has interactions with the full TCRCD staff.
- Knowledge of fiscal operations necessary for multiple fund accounting is preferred
- Experience with government agency or municipal accounting practices is preferred
- Experience in Human Resources and Labor Law is preferred
- Knowledge of computerized accounting is a must
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (including Excel) and Adobe
- Attention to detail is a must
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Ability to communicate concisely, both verbal and written
- Degree/certificate in Bookkeeping or Accounting, OR a combination of education and experience
Subject to the direction of the Director of Finance, Executive Director, or Deputy Director:
- Maintain general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable for multiple programs
- Maintain spreadsheets for loaded pay rates, insurance reconciliations, vehicle and equipment summaries
- Compile and submit monthly financial statements, update program reconciliations
- Complete bank reconciliations
- Prepare individual project reports needed by the Grants Manager and Program Managers
- Assist in preparing semi-monthly payroll, tax deposits, and quarterly payroll returns
- Maintain files and records according to established systems
- Appropriately store and manage confidential information

Starting Salary Range:
$26.00 to $28.67 hourly DOE
