We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a part-time remote capacity. As a key member of our behavioral health services, you will assess, diagnose, and manage psychiatric conditions, ensuring high-quality patient care through telehealth platforms. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans via telehealth consultations.
- Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness, ensuring safe administration aligned with clinical guidelines.
- Provide evidence-based psychotherapy and counseling tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, discharge planning, and follow-up services.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment options, and medication management.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks.
- Stay current with advancements in psychopharmacology, telehealth regulations, and mental health best practices.
Qualifications
- Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with certification in Psychiatry or Mental Health Nursing.
- Proven experience in behavioral health, including working with individuals with developmental disabilities, geriatrics, or pediatric populations.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms and EHR systems like Athenahealth or Cerner.
- Knowledge of psychopharmacology, medication administration, and clinical research methodologies.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, diagnostic evaluation (ICD-10 coding), and patient assessment techniques.
- Experience in crisis intervention, triage, acute pain management, or hospice & palliative medicine is a plus.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent communication skills and adherence to HIPAA regulations.
