Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. As a key member of our practice, you will be responsible for providing preventive dental services, patient education, and assisting with clinical procedures to promote optimal oral health. Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review, to ensure safe treatment planning.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) accurately while maintaining radiation safety protocols.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to individual needs.
- Assist dentists with clinical procedures such as cavity fillings, sealants, and other restorative treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review, treatment planning, and medical coding.
- Maintain infection prevention standards through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of dental equipment in compliance with healthcare infection control guidelines.
- Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Skills
- Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for efficient record management.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care.
- Experience with pediatric dentistry practices and providing care tailored to children’s needs.
- Expertise in chairside assisting during various dental procedures with a focus on four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Familiarity with medical imaging equipment and the ability to interpret dental X-rays accurately.
- Knowledge of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively on oral health practices.
- Ability to review documentation thoroughly and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
