The City of Tacoma, Environment and Public Works (EPW) Department, Solid Waste Management Branch, is seeking a skilled supervisor to join our collaborative team providing an exceptional customer experience at the Tacoma Recovery & Transfer Center (RTC). RTC Supervisors will, under the direction of an Environmental Services Assistant Division Manager, oversee and direct solid waste and household hazardous waste processing, transfer, disposal and recycling activities at the Tacoma Recovery and Transfer Center. This position will supervise, evaluate, assign, schedule and direct the work of assigned personnel; oversee the maintenance and security of assigned facility areas, buildings, and equipment; plan and coordinate operational projects and assignments; provide asset management for a large operational campus; develop and manage contracts and working relationships with vendors to provide critical operational services; lead assigned operational areas with fiscal responsibility; and prepare a variety of records and reports. This position will also coordinate with and assist other agencies, departments or Environmental Services staff to ensure our operations and facilities are in compliance with regulatory permits.

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will have their job application and response to Supplemental Question # 6-10 reviewed and scored by a committee of subject matter experts, as the Experience and Training Test. It is the responsibility of the applicants to adequately describe all pertinent experience and training. Candidates who pass the test will be placed on an Eligible List for potential interview and hiring consideration.

Annual Salary: $108,160.00 - $131,476.80
