We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Class A Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely within designated routes. This position requires a strong understanding of various types of vehicles and driving conditions, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations. Responsibilities:
- Operate delivery vehicles including flatbeds.
- Navigate assigned routes effectively while maintaining a schedule for deliveries.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding delivery status or any issues encountered on the road.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
Skills:
- Proven experience as a delivery driver with knowledge of route driving practices.
- Familiarity with operating various types of trucks including flatbeds, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, refrigerated trailers, tankers, and tractor-trailers.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and clients.
- A valid class A driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.
