Named the #1 burger in Michigan, our kitchen emphasizes scratch-made foods, so employees must be flexible enough to balance prepping and cooking throughout service.
Requirements: Applicants must have formal Culinary education or a minimum of 2 years of on-the-job cooking experience at a to-order restaurant. Must demonstrate basic knife and cooking skills and an understanding of safe food handling procedures. Positive attitude and good communication skills are a must.
Desired Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a two-year culinary degree, Safe Serve or comparable food safety certification, and on-the-job experience. Meat grinding and sausage making skills and experience with breakfast/brunch menus - or a strong desire to learn them - is also desired.
Performance Expectations:
Essential functions:
-Make menu items to meet quality, portion and time standard
-Maintain a clean and sanitary work space
-Practice good personal hygiene
-Timely and accurate completion of prep list including stocking, rotating and clean-up
-Meet quality and time standards for trimming & slicing meat
-Efficiently maintain bread station throughout an entire shift
-Work the grill (includes maintaining correct temperature and cleanliness, grilling items to standards in proper order)
-Maintain line cleanliness and sanitation (includes cutting boards, floor, trash, slicer and bread areas)
-Proper maintenance of hot-hold line.
-Positively responds to direction and requests for assistance from co-workers, supervisors, managers, and guests
-Keep a positive attitude and treat customers and co-workers with courtesy and respect.
-Do whatever it takes to make every guest's experience a great one
-Keep busy and stay productive during slow times
-Attend team meetings
Non-essential functions:
-Assist in other areas of the business as needed
-Attend off-site businesses events and activities.
-Document customer compliments, complaints and suggestions as applicable
-Assist in training other staff members
-Document and update Standard Operating Procedures
-Complete training program within the stated time frames and embrace ongoing learning
-Participate in meetings through constructive feedback and discussion
-Propose new menu items, under the direction of Head Chef and Managing Partners, and document recipes and procedures.
