Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is vital in promoting independence, dignity, and well-being for clients across various care settings. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Support clients with medication administration following prescribed instructions and safety protocols
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of isolation and promote mental well-being
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
- Implement behavior management strategies for clients with dementia or cognitive disabilities to ensure safety and comfort
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care environments
- Strong knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, memory care, dementia care, and geriatrics best practices
- Ability to perform manual handling and safe patient lifting techniques to prevent injury
- Familiarity with home & community care practices and long-term care procedures
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments
- Certification in CPR and First Aid to respond effectively during emergencies
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and healthcare teams effectively
