Duties
-
Asses/update patient information on the EMR system.

Obtain medical histories and new patient assessments.

Take/record blood pressure, respirations, temperature, height, weight and Sp02.

Subcutaneous and intramuscular injections.
-
Apply dressings.
-
Ear syringing.
-
Assist providers with minor procedures and examinations and clean up post-procedure.
-
Instruct patients in use of pocket event recordings (Holter Monitor & Apnea Link).
-
Urinalysis collections and use of Proadvantage machine for quick testing.
-
Collect lab specimens.
-
Explain medical procedures to patients.
-
Communicate lab and x-ray results and other clinical matters to patients as directed.
-
Prepare patients and set up all necessary equipment for specific examinations.
-
Ensure proper wrapping of instruments to prepare for sterilization.
-
Maintain temperature control records for vaccine refrigerator/freezer/blanket warmer.
-
Explain/schedule upcoming medical and diagnostic procedures.
-
Call prescriptions into area pharmacies as directed by medical providers.
-
Make phone referrals/schedule appointments to other clinics.
-
Maintain stock in cupboards, exam rooms, and procedure rooms.

Use/access of THOR website for immunization/registration.

Phlebotomy skills and IV certification, administer IV medications
The clinic nurse assists medical providers with direct patient care, examinations, and treatment plans. They will prepare patients and assist medical providers with minor surgical and medical procedures. Tasks including taking vital signs, prepping and giving injections, performing lab tests, cleaning equipment, scheduling patient referral appointments, and maintaining current patient information on the electronic medical records system.
