We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused full-time On-site Community Manager to oversee daily operations for two (2) apartment buildings; 60-units and 29-units, located in Hawthorne, California. This role is responsible for leading property performance consistent with the values, operating, and strategic goals of the Company. You will be passionate about providing a quality living environment and support for our residents, supervising on-site team members, maintaining strong occupancy, and ensuring the community is operated in compliance with company policies and applicable housing regulations.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage daily property operations to optimize occupancy, resident satisfaction, community value, and budget goals.
· Ensure compliance with company policies, Fair Housing, ADA, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and other applicable housing laws.
· Handle financial workflows: including rent collection, delinquency tracking and budget management.
· Lead and develop on-site staff through onboarding, daily supervision, performance coaching, and ongoing training.
· Deliver prompt customer service across all communication channels to resolve resident inquiries.
· Drive leasing and marketing efforts, including property tours, vacancy reduction and Yardi tracking
· Coordinate maintenance and make-ready to guarantee community safety and high curb appeal.
· Oversee incident reporting and promptly complete all required safety compliance checklists.
· Manage lease administration by maintaining accurate files, generating required reports and ensuring timely communication with residents, prospects, vendors and team.
· Effectively respond to all incoming phone calls, emails, texts, and internal requests in a prompt and professional manner. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise seamlessly with residents, vendors, team members, and property owners.
Qualifications and Skills
· Background in property management, community management, leasing, or multifamily housing with knowledge of Fair Housing requirements and apartment operations preferred.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to train, supervise, and motivate on-site staff.
· Excellent customer service, communication, organization, and follow-through skills.
· Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work independently after training.
· Proficient with standard office equipment and property management software and related technology; Yardi experience preferred.
· Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a collaborative team attitude.
· Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance required.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
· Ability to alternate between standing, walking, and sitting throughout the workday.
· Ability to inspect and show the property, including walking the community, climbing stairs, opening and closing doors, and reaching for supplies.
· Ability to perform frequent typing, writing, phone use, filing, and operation of office equipment.
· Ability to lift and carry paperwork, files, supplies, deliveries, and miscellaneous items as needed.
· Work is performed primarily indoors with frequent outdoor activity in various weather conditions.
· Occasional use of personal transportation may be required for property-related errands, inspections, banking, or corporate office visits.
Compensation
· Employees may be eligible for discretionary bonus and commission opportunities based on established criteria, company policies, and business needs.
· On-site one-bedroom apartment separate from leasing office is included as part of the monthly compensation.
