Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards in production and food handling practices
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members
- Support menu planning efforts by providing feedback on dishes and suggesting improvements based on customer preferences
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders while maintaining high standards of food quality and safety
- Assist with food service operations during busy periods, including catering events or special functions, ensuring excellent serving standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food industry roles such as restaurant cooking, catering, or dietary departments is highly desirable
- Demonstrated proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety management
- Strong knife skills with knowledge of slicing techniques to ensure efficiency and safety in food handling
- Experience working in fast-paced environments where meal preparation and food service are prioritized
- Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities or dietary department experience is a plus
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and adherence to health regulations
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors
