We seek a Controls Electrician on our Facilities team to maintain, troubleshoot, install, and repair electrical/communication equipment and building electrical systems per the National Electrical Code and local ordinances. This role will maintain, troubleshoot, modify, and repair campus and building automation systems as well as work with contractors and vendors of various systems as needed to maintain optimum system performance.
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Respond to temperature, humidity, pressure, indoor air quality, and airflow issues by assessing site conditions and troubleshooting building systems. Use laptop software, meters, and sensors to evaluate performance.

Inspect, test, clean, adjust, and calibrate all types of environmental sensors, controls, and mechanical systems. Adjust, repair, and rebuild valves, dampers, linkages, and all associated actuators.

Renovate, upgrade, or replace building automation and control systems to accommodate new technology and improve energy conservation. Examine existing systems and recommend improvements. Plan and coordinate activities to minimize disruptions during system shutdowns.

Provide after-hours on-call support as part of established departmental on-call rotations.

Read, interpret, and update blueprints, construction drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics and follow verbal instructions in order to plan and layout installations

Provide guidance to personnel such as general maintenance workers, contractors, and apprentices.
