Retail Sales Associate
As a Retail Clothing Sales Associate, you'll play an important role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable shopping experience for every customer. From offering personalized style recommendations to keeping the store organized and visually appealing, you'll help customers feel confident in their purchases while representing the brand with enthusiasm and professionalism. This role combines excellent customer service, teamwork, and attention to detail to ensure the store is inviting, well-stocked, and running smoothly each day.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and provide friendly, professional assistance.
- Help customers select clothing, jewelry, and accessories based on their needs and preferences.
- Recommend complementary products.
- Process purchases, returns, and exchanges accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor and fitting rooms.
- Restock merchandise and ensure displays are properly arranged.
- Steam garments to maintain a polished, wrinkle-free presentation before displaying merchandise.
- Perform quality control checks on incoming and existing merchandise to identify defects or damages ensuring products meet store standards.
- Stay knowledgeable about current promotions, store policies, and new merchandise.
- Assist with opening and closing store procedures as needed.
- Handle customer questions and resolve concerns in a courteous and timely manner.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus but not always required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, positive attitude with a customer-first mindset.
- Basic math and cash-handling skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20–30 pounds.
