About Us
Hamlett Logistics LLC is an Amazon Delivery Service Partner operating out of Fenton, MO, and Rolla, MO. We run a mixed fleet of Rivian EDV 700 electric vans and gas-powered delivery vehicles — Ram ProMaster, Mercedes Sprinter, and Ford Transit — and deliver for Amazon every day of the week. We invest heavily in our people, systems, and equipment, and we're looking for a hands-on Fleet Lead who takes the same pride in keeping our vans road-ready and our operations compliant across both locations.
The Fleet Lead owns the health, readiness, and compliance of our delivery fleet across both of our stations. You are the person who makes sure every van is safe, fueled or charged, clean, and available when routes launch — and that any vehicle that isn't gets fixed fast.
This is a hands-on, get-your-hands-dirty role: you'll travel between both stations and perform basic mechanical work yourself at the level of a quick-lube or tire-shop technician, and coordinate anything beyond that with outside shops. It also blends damage and claims management, charging and fueling operations, and Amazon fleet-program compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Vehicle readiness: Ensure the daily fleet is road-ready before dispatch — reviewing Vehicle Condition Reports (VCRs), addressing defects, and staging vans so routes launch on time.
- Hands-on maintenance: Perform routine mechanical work in-house — mounting, changing, rotating, and patching tires; checking and topping off fluids; oil changes; replacing wiper blades, bulbs, air filters, and batteries; basic brake work; and jump-starts. This is work you do yourself, not just schedule.
- Maintenance coordination: Schedule and track preventive maintenance and larger repairs; coordinate with Rivian service, manufacturer dealerships, third-party shops, and Amazon on downtime and turnaround for work beyond in-house capability.
- Multi-station coverage: Manage the fleet across both stations — traveling between locations, balancing vehicle availability, and keeping both yards road-ready each morning.
- Damage & claims management: Document vehicle damage thoroughly (photos, reports), open and track collision/insurance claims, and hold repair vendors accountable to accurate billing and quality work.
- PAVE & Amazon compliance: Prepare vehicles for and pass Amazon PAVE assessments; keep the fleet compliant with Amazon fleet standards and program requirements.
- Documentation & records: Maintain registration, insurance, inspection, and maintenance records for every unit; track fleet KPIs and downtime.
- Equipment & inventory: Keep vans stocked with required safety and operational equipment; manage keys, fobs, and charging cables.
- Yard management: Organize parking and staging to keep the lot orderly and vehicles accessible.
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on mechanical ability — you can change and rotate tires, do oil and fluid changes, swap batteries and bulbs, and handle basic brake and preventive-maintenance work. Experience at a quick-lube shop, tire shop, or auto service center is exactly what we're after.
- Own or willingness to use basic hand tools; comfortable operating a floor jack, impact wrench, and tire-mounting equipment.
- Prior fleet, automotive, or vehicle-maintenance experience (Amazon DSP or last-mile delivery experience a strong plus).
- Comfort working on both gas vehicles and electric vans / charging infrastructure, or a willingness to learn quickly.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented — you track dozens of moving parts without dropping any.
- Strong documentation habits, especially around damage, claims, and compliance.
- Able to start at 7:00 AM and work a schedule aligned to dispatch. Required to work at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) and able to get to work in all weather conditions.
- You may report daily to either the Fenton, MO or Rolla, MO station, and will travel back and forth between the two throughout the day using a company-provided van (van stays at the station at the end of each shift).
- Solid communicator who can hold outside vendors accountable and coordinate across the team.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
