Oak Grove Recovery operates Residential Treatment Programs for individuals with Substance Use Disorder. We seek not merely to restore sobriety, but to transform our patients’ worlds from a state of everlasting darkness to vibrant technicolor. Position Summary
The Nurse Practitioner oversees the process of assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of individuals with medical complaints or potential medical issues using their full scope of therapeutic skills, including the prescription of medication and nursing treatments. This position works to maintain the highest level of care in accordance with regulatory standards.
The Nurse Practitioner also performs History & Physical Exams and Physical Evaluations as delegated by the Medical Director and plays a vital role in supporting clients on their road to recovery.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including prescribing medications through written or standing orders
- Assess all patients face-to-face who present with valid medical complaints across all levels of care
- Perform a thorough psychiatric evaluation within 24 hours of patient admission
- Perform a thorough medical history and physical examination within 24 hours of patient admission
- Assess patients at detoxification level of care 365 days per year
- Assess all other patients at least weekly during their stay
- Participate in discharge planning and coordination of aftercare as needed
- Attend Treatment Team meetings and other care coordination appointments
- Maintain active state licensure
- Ensure compliance with all facility policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including JCAHO and state regulations
- Maintain eligibility to participate in federally funded healthcare programs (no sanctions, suspensions, or exclusions)
On-Call Expectations
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for the assigned region (typically one day per week; may increase if covering for another provider)
- Respond to after-hours clinical calls within 30 minutes
Qualifications
- Active Nurse Practitioner license required
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution required
- Minimum 5 years of nursing experience in a mental health setting preferred
- Prior experience in chemical dependency or substance use treatment preferred
- Minimum 2 years of leadership or managerial experience preferred
- Strong personal passion or interest in substance use recovery
- Commitment to a drug-free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use
