Position Summary
We are seeking a Patient Service Representative to join our OB/GYN Call Center team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service while serving as the first point of contact for patients seeking women's healthcare services. This role is responsible for scheduling appointments, managing patient inquiries, and supporting seamless communication between patients, providers, and office staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer a high volume of incoming calls from patients in a professional, courteous, and compassionate manner
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments for OB/GYN providers and services
- Provide patients with information regarding appointments, procedures, office policies, and provider availability
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
- Accurately document patient communications in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Route clinical questions and patient concerns to appropriate nursing or provider staff
- Assist patients with referrals, authorizations, and appointment preparation instructions
- Conduct outbound calls for appointment reminders, follow-up scheduling, and patient outreach initiatives
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Meet established quality, productivity, and customer service standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of one year of customer service, call center, or healthcare experience preferred
- Previous OB/GYN, women's health, or medical scheduling experience preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of OB/GYN terminology, procedures, and appointment types
- Experience with insurance verification and authorization processes
