Schedule Details/Additional Information:
APP would be responsible for covering Pineville Hospital and UW Hospital from 6am-7pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Pay Range:
$47.50 - $71.25
Position Details
Employment Type: Full‑time (1.0 FTE)
Schedule: Friday–Sunday, 7:00 a.m.– 8:00 p.m.
Setting: Inpatient
Location: Atrium Health Pineville & University Hospitals
Call Coverage: Weekend daytime call (6 a.m.–7 p.m.), shared with one GI APP
Holidays: Some holidays required (rotational)
Clinical Responsibilities
Provide inpatient gastroenterology care, including consults and ongoing patient management
Average patient volume: 18–20 patients per day
Perform PEG tube exchanges/placements in endoscopy as applicable
Collaborate closely with GI physicians, APP colleagues, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams
Deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in an acute care environment
Team & Practice Environment
Weekend staffing model includes 1 GI physician and 2 APPs
Large, established GI group with 32 physicians and 38 APPs

Qualifications
Certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
Minimum of 2 years of experience required (no new graduates)
Active or eligible North Carolina licensure
Strong interest in comprehensive inpatient gastroenterology care
Subspecialty GI interests welcomed
