Director of Plant Operations

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Plant Operations to oversee the daily operations of our Maintenance, Housekeeping, and Laundry Departments. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring our skilled nursing facility remains safe, functional, clean, and inviting while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements.
As a member of our leadership team, you will play a vital role in supporting quality resident care by ensuring our buildings, grounds, resident rooms, and common areas reflect the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence.
Position Summary
The Director of Plant Operations is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing the maintenance of the facility's buildings, utilities, equipment, and grounds, as well as the overall operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments. This position ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while maintaining preventative maintenance programs, environmental services standards, life safety compliance, departmental budgets, and staff development.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in plant operations, maintenance, engineering or environmental services with Supervisory or Management experience.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical systems, housekeeping operations, laundry services, and general building maintenance.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, or healthcare setting required.
- Knowledge of CMS regulations, OSHA standards, Life Safety Code requirements, infection prevention practices, and emergency preparedness regulations.
- Experience managing departmental budgets and computerized preventative maintenance programs.

Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent walking, standing, climbing, bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and working indoors and outdoors. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely operate maintenance equipment is required.
Participation in an on-call rotation and the ability to respond to after-hours emergencies are expected.
