Enhanced Community Support Professional (Part-Time, 5 Hours/Week)
Position Type: Part-Time (5 hours per week)
Schedule: Flexible; schedule to be developed collaboratively based on participant needs and staff availability. Some evenings and weekends may be required.
Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified and compassionate professional to provide Enhanced Home and Community Support services to an adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) who is also navigating substance use recovery. This position focuses on helping the individual build skills, maintain recovery supports, increase community participation, strengthen natural supports, and work toward personally meaningful life outcomes.
The ideal candidate will possess specialized knowledge and experience related to both intellectual/developmental disabilities and substance use recovery including harm reduction. Abstinence only focused approaches are not the standard for this role. Candidates may qualify through professional experience, relevant certifications, or lived experience supported by appropriate peer recovery credentials.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized Enhanced Home and Community Support services in accordance with Pennsylvania ODP requirements.
- Support the individual in identifying and achieving personal goals related to community living, health, wellness, recovery, relationships, employment, and meaningful daily activities.
- Assist with developing skills that promote independence, self-determination, and community inclusion.
- Utilize person-centered and trauma-informed approaches when providing support.
- Support the development and maintenance of recovery-oriented strategies and connections to recovery resources.
- Collaborate with the individual's support team, including family members, Supports Coordinators, behavioral health providers, recovery professionals, and other service providers as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate documentation and service records in accordance with ODP standards and expectations
- Promote health, safety, dignity, and informed choice in all interactions.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must possess one of the following credentials or educational qualifications:
Certifications
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
- Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- NADSP/NADDD Competency-Based Support Professional Certification
- NADDD Competency-Based Dual Diagnosis Certification
- NADDD Competency-Based Clinical Certification
OR
Bachelor's Degree in:
- Psychology
- Education
- Special Education
- Counseling
- Social Work
- Gerontology
- Therapeutic Recreation
OR
Nursing Credentials
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License
Required Experience
In addition to the qualifications above, candidates must demonstrate:
- Experience supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).
- Experience supporting individuals in substance use recovery through either:
- Professional employment or volunteer experience in behavioral health, addiction services, recovery support, or related fields; or
- Lived experience in recovery coupled with a recognized Peer Support, Certified Recovery Specialist, or similar recovery credential.
- Understanding of person-centered practices, community integration, and recovery-oriented support approaches.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with the support team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting individuals with co-occurring IDD and substance use disorders.
- Familiarity with Pennsylvania ODP services and regulations.
- Training in trauma-informed care, positive behavior support, motivational interviewing, or recovery-oriented practices.
- Strong community networking and resource development skills.
Compensation
Starting rate $30 with increase to $37 after 90 days and successful client satisfaction
Pay: $30.00 - $37.00 per hour
