The Reinsurance Accountant will prepare and maintain financial accounting records to track the organization’s reinsurance clients’ assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities, along with tax return preparation (1120 PC).
- Complete financial statements and tax returns for organization’s reinsurance clients.
- Performs general accounting and other related duties for the organization’s clients.
- Exporting data from outside database, preparing Microsoft excel reports, importing Microsoft excel data into accounting systems, and reconciliation.
- Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts.
- Reconcile bank accounts, verifies deposits and payments, and addresses inquiries from clients.
- Manages and prepares dividend analysis, promissory notes and valuations.
- Prepare 1099 tax reports and manage W9 IRS Forms.
- Maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
- Meet strict financial funding requirements and deadlines.
- Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, accounting software such as QuickBooks, we are willing to train, ability to manipulate large amounts of data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred but not required.
- Insurance Accounting and tax preparation experience preferred.
- At least three years of related experience required
Pay: $50k-$60k annual based on experience
