Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Paint Manager for our second shift to lead our painting operations. This pivotal role involves overseeing the entire powder coating and industrial painting processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and production schedules. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with construction and metal painting surfaces, and a passion for maintaining excellence in manufacturing environments.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate all second-shift painting activities, including powder coating, metal painting, and industrial painting tasks
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations by enforcing PPE use such as respirators and respiratory protection equipment at all times
- Monitor quality standards in production through visual color comparisons and precision measuring instruments to guarantee flawless finishes
- Manage materials handling, fabrication, assembly, and the operation of hand tools, power tools, cranes, welding equipment, airless paint sprayers, and machining tools
- Maintain a safe work environment by conducting regular safety audits and ensuring proper use of PPE and adherence to safety procedures
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals while maintaining high-quality output and efficient workflow
- Train and mentor team members on proper surface preparation techniques for construction painting surfaces and metal repair processes
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of industrial painting techniques including powder coating, metal painting, construction painting surface preparation, and airless paint spraying
- Proficiency with forklift operation, fabrication, assembly, and the use of hand tools and power tools
- Strong understanding of quality standards in manufacturing environments with experience using visual color comparison tools and precision measuring instruments
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues related to paint application systems or fabrication machinery
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency
- Warehouse experience for materials handling and inventory management
- Ability to perform basic math calculations relevant to measurements and process adjustments
- Knowledge of respiratory protection protocols including respirator use in industrial painting settings
