Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Sewing Machine Service Coordinator & Customer Service Representative. This position involves managing the check-in and check-out process for sewing machines, processing transactions at the register, and providing outstanding customer service both in-store and over the phone. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, friendly, and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sewing Machine Check-in/Check-out:
- Accurately track sewing machine service statuses using our Purchase Order (PO) system.
- Check in machines that are brought in for maintenance/repair.
- Check out machines to customers, ensuring all necessary paperwork and payment is completed.
- Inspect returned machines for any damage or issues and report accordingly.
- Update customer and machine records in the PO system.
- Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly and provide assistance as they shop for sewing machines and related products.
- Answer customer inquiries both in-store and over the phone regarding sewing machine features, pricing, availability, and policies.
- Assist with troubleshooting basic machine-related issues and direct customers to the appropriate resources for more advanced support.
- Resolve customer complaints or concerns in a timely and professional manner, escalating to management when necessary.
- Register Operations:
- Operate the cash register to process sales transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Handle payments, provide receipts, and issue refunds as needed.
- Ensure the cash register is balanced at the beginning and end of each shift.
- General Store Support:
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area and customer-facing spaces.
- Assist with stocking shelves, organizing products, and ensuring inventory levels are properly maintained.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager to support day-to-day operations.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or office administration is preferred.
- Skills:
- Garment construction, quilting, crafting, mending, etc. is prefered
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in handling inventory and customer records.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Proficient with basic computer programs and POS systems.
