Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation: Prepare and cook daily meals, including lunch and dinner, following standardized recipes and planned menus.
- Dietary Accommodations: Modify recipes to accommodate therapeutic diets (e.g., low-sodium, diabetic, pureed, allergen-free, or mechanical soft) as directed by the Administrator.
- Sanitation & Safety: Maintain impeccable cleanliness in the kitchen, properly store and label food (including checking and discarding leftovers as needed), and log food temperatures to comply with state and federal health regulations.
- Resident Interaction: Take resident feedback, learn individual preferences, and occasionally assist in the dining room to ensure a pleasant and dignified mealtime experience.
- Inventory Management: Assist in taking inventory, receiving and putting away food deliveries, and notifying management of low stock or faulty kitchen equipment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 1–2+ years of experience in food preparation, preferably in a healthcare, senior living, or hospitality setting; willing to train the right candidate.
- Certifications: ServSafe certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment), and Idaho Food Handler's Card (Within 30 days).
- Nutritional Knowledge: Understanding of senior nutrition and how dietary guidelines change with age.
- Soft Skills: Excellent time management, a compassionate and patient attitude toward seniors, and the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
