Position Summary
The Direct Care Caregiver provides supervision, support, mentorship, and guidance to youth residing at Rebirth Haven. Positions may be assigned to evening or overnight awake shifts based on program needs.
Caregivers are responsible for maintaining a safe and structured environment while helping youth develop independent living skills, emotional regulation, healthy relationships, and positive behavioral choices.
Essential Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety, supervision, and well-being of youth at all times
- Build positive and professional relationships that promote trust, stability, and belonging
- Support implementation of individualized service plans and treatment goals
- Utilize trauma-informed care, restorative practices, and positive behavior support strategies
- Coach youth in emotional regulation, communication, conflict resolution, and life skills
- Support daily routines including meals, recreation, hygiene, school readiness, and bedtime routines
- Conduct room checks, safety checks, and environmental monitoring as required
- Observe, document, and communicate significant behaviors, incidents, and progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and shift reports
- Assist in creating a structured, engaging, and positive home environment
- Collaborate with supervisors, therapists, case managers, educators, and treatment team members
- Participate in training, team meetings, and professional development opportunities
- Meal Preparation and Light House keeping tasks

Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Ability to pass all required background checks, drug screening, and licensing clearances
- Ability to work evenings, overnight awake shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to remain awake, alert, and engaged during overnight shifts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to complete required documentation accurately and timely
Preferred Qualifications
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Certification
- Residential childcare experience
- Experience working in foster care, group homes, shelters, residential treatment centers, behavioral health programs, juvenile services, special education, or youth development programs
- Experience implementing trauma-informed care practices
- Experience supporting youth with emotional, behavioral, developmental, or mental health needs
