Prepare adults and students with disabilities for employment, explore post-secondary education options, assist in the development of career-related soft skills, and help obtain work experience.
Work 1:1 or in group settings.
Push into traditional and nontraditional school settings throughout the capital region to:
Assist consumers with job exploration counseling to explore career options, identify career pathways of interest, career awareness, career speakers, and career student organization.
Develop and coordinate work-based learning experiences; identify businesses in the community for paid and unpaid internships/work experience, job shadowing, workplace tours, and career mentorship.
Provide counseling on opportunities for enrollment in comprehensive transition or post-secondary educational programs.
Assist with workplace readiness training to develop social skills and independent living; Enhance career exploration and develop soft skills, financial literacy, job-seeking skills, and develop an understanding of employer expectations.
Qualifications:
Minimum of an Associate Degree in Education or a Human Services Related Field, or High school diploma and completion of some college courses with at least two (2) years providing direct services in the education or employment realm to students with disabilities.
Experience providing employment services is a must
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (employees are required to travel) a must.
Must possess strong time management and organizational skills. Must be able to self-direct and work independently to meet contract goals.
Pay: $24.50 - $24.75 per hour
Work Location: In person
