Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting various accounting functions across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, familiarity with multiple financial software systems, and a commitment to confidentiality and precision. As a key contributor, you will help uphold the integrity of our financial data and assist in streamlining accounting processes to support operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify accuracy of financial data
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, including invoice processing and collections
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures
- Utilize financial software such as Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or Ceridian for data entry and reporting
- Conduct financial data analysis using Excel spreadsheets for insights and reporting purposes
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy of the organization’s financial statements
- Handle confidential information with integrity while maintaining high levels of accuracy
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Support payroll management tasks using systems like ADP and Workday
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 3 years of professional accounting experience within corporate sectors
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and governmental accounting standards
- Experience with technical accounting issues including revenue recognition and complex journal entries
- Familiarity with SOX compliance procedures and internal controls frameworks
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with strong attention to detail
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and external entities
- Knowledge of payroll systems like ADP or Workday is advantageous
- Bilingual
Pay: $40,000.00 per year
