Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Surgical Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance during a variety of dental and surgical procedures, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and optimal clinical outcomes. Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and medical documentation will contribute to delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting patients through their dental journey while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments and supplies, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Assist the dentist during surgical procedures such as extractions, implants, bone grafting, fillings, and periodontal surgeries by providing necessary instruments and support.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging equipment like 3D scanners and ensure accurate medical documentation within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Monitor vital signs and patient comfort levels throughout procedures, ensuring safety standards are met at all times.
- Manage medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
- Educate patients on post-operative care instructions, including medication usage and oral hygiene practices.
- Collaborate with the dental team including receptionists and hygienists to streamline patient flow and ensure efficient clinic operations.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience as a surgical dental assistant
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with a focus on surgical procedures in a busy dental clinic setting.
- Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental assisting techniques such as chairside assisting and aseptic technique.
- Familiarity with Dentrix, Triana, Dexis, or other medical documentation platforms.
- Knowledge of infection control standards, anatomy, dental imaging techniques, including X-ray procedures, and 3D scanner operation.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism and empathy. - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 10 AM - 5 PM, Friday 9 AM - 4PM
Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
