Position Summary
The Apprentice Plumber assists licensed plumbers in the installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of commercial plumbing systems while developing the knowledge and skills necessary to become a qualified commercial service technician. This position is intended to provide structured on-the-job training under the supervision of experienced personnel.
Typical work schedule is from 7:00am until 4:00pm Monday through Friday and may be shifted slightly from time to time. Emergency service response, overtime, weekends and varying start times may be required based on business needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid California Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain required trade certifications.
- Ability to work safely in commercial construction and service environments.
- Ability to pass a standard background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrollment in an apprenticeship program.
- Previous construction experience.
Physical Requirements
- Climb ladders and scaffolds.
- Frequent kneeling, bending, squatting, crawling, and climbing.
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to wear required PPE.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist plumbers with commercial plumbing repairs and installations.
- Load, unload, organize, and transport tools and materials.
- Learn proper installation techniques for piping, fixtures, valves, pumps, water heaters, and related equipment.
- Assist with preventative maintenance activities.
- Maintain clean and organized job sites.
- Safely operate hand and power tools.
- Assist with equipment startup and testing.
- Complete required documentation within ServiceTitan under supervision.
- Participate in daily Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Maintain assigned tools and equipment.
- Attend company safety meetings and technical training.
- Demonstrate continuous learning and professional development.
Customer Service Expectations
