Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and company policies
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes, ensuring timely arrivals at each destination
- Load and unload merchandise using safe lifting practices and heavy lifting techniques when necessary
- Engage with customers professionally, providing excellent service and upselling additional products or services when appropriate
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation
- Conduct vehicle inspections regularly to ensure automobile transportation safety standards are met (We have a Chevy Express 2500)
- Communicate clearly with dispatchers to coordinate deliveries and address any issues promptly
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, route driving, or delivery services preferred
- Strong math skills for calculating pricing, measurements, and route distances
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to commercial driving and transportation safety
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and adhere to safe lifting practices during loading/unloading processes
- Organizational skills for managing delivery schedules, route planning, and merchandising tasks
