Position Summary:
JCI Jones Chemicals, Inc. is seeking a results-driven Facility Manager to oversee the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of one of its water treatment chemical manufacturing plants. This individual will be responsible for managing facility infrastructure, maintenance, production and transportation teams, safety compliance, and capital projects while supporting continuous improvement and production reliability.
Responsibilities:
Operations & Maintenance:
· Oversee daily facility operations including utilities, mechanical systems, chemical storage and handling, production, support, and transportation infrastructure.
· Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs
· Coordinate repairs and upgrades with in-house technicians and third-party contractors.
Safety & Regulatory Compliance:
· Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, DHS, and local regulatory agencies, including hazardous materials storage and transportation requirements.
· Lead safety initiatives, conduct facility audits, and promote a culture of safety across all departments.
· Maintain documentation for environmental permits, inspections, and incident reports.
Team Leadership:
· Supervise and mentor production, administrative, driver and maintenance teams.
· Maintain training programs in safety and equipment operations, lockout/tagout (LOTO), CSE and other EHS protocols.
Capital Projects & Infrastructure:
· Plan and lead facility upgrades, construction, and capital improvement projects.
· Manage vendor relationships, obtain permits, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget.
· Support engineering and plant operations teams with equipment installations and modifications.
Qualifications:
· Bilingual – English and Spanish
· Excellent communicator
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, facilities management, industrial maintenance or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
· Minimum 5 years of facility or maintenance management experience
· Strong knowledge of industrial systems, pumps, compressors, tanks, valves, instrumentation, HVAC, and electrical systems preferred.
· 5+ years of facility or plant management experience.
· Proven experience in managing EHS compliance programs and working with regulatory agencies.
· Proficiency with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office suite.
· Physically able to walk the plant, climb ladders, and access equipment as needed.
· Preference given to applicants with military leadership or logistics experience.
Certifications (Preferred but not required):
- Certified Facility Manager (CFM), OSHA 30, or equivalent
- HAZWOPER (29 CFR 1910.120)
- TWIC card eligibility
- Boiler Operator License, electrical, or mechanical trades license
Work Environment:
This role is based on-site at a JCI Jones Chemicals facility and involves regular inspections of operational areas, including confined spaces, elevated platforms, and outdoor environments. Must be able to wear required PPE and respond to after-hours emergencies or equipment failures as needed. There will be some after-hours work and occasional weekend shifts. A typical day will be moving between all areas, inside in administration, outside for rail switches, production, and tanker management. This is a job for someone who likes to be hands on and to be able to roll up their sleeves when needed.
