Our practice is seeking to employ a full time experienced Medical Practice Operator/ Insurance Verifier.
Our Medical Practice Operator/ Insurance Verifier duties include answering all incoming calls, sending out new patient packets, conduct insurance verification, referrals and answering patient billing questions.
Responsibilities:
- Perform clerical receptionist duties such as scanning, filing, photocopying, transcribing and faxing
- Verify personal and insurance information.
- Scheduling Appointments: Manage patient schedules by coordinating and booking appointments for multiple providers, confirming upcoming visits, and rescheduling as needed.
- Answering Calls: Respond to phone inquiries, address patient questions, schedule appointments, create jellybeans for correct employees, relay phone calls to correct department, and assist with general office-related concerns.
- Managing Patient Records: Ensure all patient forms are completed and accurately entered in the system. Maintain confidentiality and compliance with privacy laws (HIPAA).
- Insurance Verification and Billing Assistance: Verifying insurance information and processing billing inquiries. Help patients understand their insurance coverage and payment options.
- Maintaining Office Organization: Keep the office area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Assist with office tasks like scanning and faxing
- Collaboration with Medical Staff: Support doctors and medical staff by communicating patient concerns, relaying messages, and ensuring patients are directed to the correct areas of the office.
- Rounding Sheets: Ensure that the physicians rounding sheets have all of the patient demographics that is needed.
- Scheduling: Ensure sure all HMO insurance plans have a referral and verifying appointments.
Skills:
- Proven work experience of a minimum of 3 years (Required)as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative in a Clinic/Medical Practice
- Insurance Verification Experience (Required)
- Proficient in E-Clinical Works (Required)
- Referrals Experience (Preferred)
- Bilingual (Spanish-Preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Excellent organizational skills
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Customer service oriented
- High school degree; additional certification in Office Management is a plus
