Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Manager/NY Licensed Funeral Director to join our team. This vital role combines leadership with hands-on funeral service responsibilities, ensuring that families receive respectful, personalized care during their most difficult times. Responsibilities
- Lead funeral planning and coordination, including event scheduling and logistical arrangements to ensure seamless services.
- Perform funeral directing duties such as overseeing embalming, cosmetic application for the deceased, and preparation of bodies in accordance with mortuary science principles and anatomy knowledge.
- Provide bereavement support and compassionate communication to families throughout the funeral process.
- Manage heavy lifting and manual handling of caskets, body transportation, and sanitation procedures to maintain a safe environment.
- Operate company vehicles for body transport and funeral service logistics while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Conduct cremation procedures following all regulatory guidelines and industry standards.
- Utilize funeral service technology for record keeping, documentation, and client communication effectively.
- Assist in dissection or anatomy-related tasks as needed for embalming or body preparation.
- Support sales efforts by explaining services to clients and offering appropriate options tailored to their needs.
- Maintain sanitation standards within the mortuary environment, ensuring all tools and facilities are clean and compliant with health regulations.
- Coordinate with vendors and manage funeral event planning details to deliver meaningful ceremonies that honor loved ones.
Experience
- Valid New York State Funeral Director license is required; prior experience in funeral directing or mortuary science is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in bereavement support, client communication, and customer service roles within the funeral industry or related fields.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, embalming techniques, cremation processes, and dissection procedures.
- Familiarity with funeral event planning software and technology tools used in modern funeral services.
- Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely, operate company vehicles responsibly, and maintain high sanitation standards.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple arrangements simultaneously while providing empathetic support to grieving families.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
