The Role
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for assisting with preventative maintenance and general facility repairs within our behavioral health hospital. The ideal candidate will have maintenance experience, the ability to function independently, and the ability to work well as part of a team.
Essential Duties
- Complete duties involved with preventative maintenance systems
- Assist the Plant Operations Director with general repairs of the facility and upkeep of the grounds
- Perform general repairs related to plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical systems
- Perform carpentry work, painting, roof maintenance, and general facility upkeep
- Maintain awareness of changes in rules and regulations affecting department operations
- Follow all OSHA regulations
- Maintain a clean and neat uniform and demonstrate dependability
Facility Systems Maintenance
Assist in the cleaning, repair, and monitoring of the following systems:
Inside Environment
- HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Generator system
- Sprinkler system
- Plumbing system
- Elevator system
- Electrical system
- Page system
- Smoke detectors and fire panels
- Pest control system
- Fire alarm system
Outside Environment
- Roof maintenance and spot patching for leaks
- Fence repair and replacement
- Patio area upkeep to ensure it is clean and presentable
- Outside lighting checks to ensure full lighting
- Daily trash and debris pickup around property
- Walkways and entrances kept clear of obstacles, snow, and ice
- Parking lots maintained clean and accessible to emergency vehicles
Additional Responsibilities
- Examine painted surfaces and touch up chipped or scratched paint
- Repair wallpaper damage and replace soiled ceiling tiles
- Assist in upkeep and repairs to patient areas including lighting, handrails, door handles, furniture, beds, call cords, floors, bathroom fixtures, televisions, walls, windows, and screens
- Maintain outside grounds and walkways, including snow removal when needed
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience
Two years of maintenance experience is preferred. Experience in a healthcare or facility setting is helpful but not required.

On Call Pay
Additional on call pay available on weekends, details discussed during interview

Approximately 20 hours per week
Typical shift hours may fall between 7:00 am and 3:30 pm Monday through Friday
Weekend on call rotation may apply

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
