Summary: Performs dimensional/layout inspections of parts manufactured in-house or received from approved suppliers. Works under the general direction of the Supervisor, Quality Assurance.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Performs internal and external audits as required to meet goals and objectives.
- Determines methods and procedures to check dimensions using advanced mathematics to establish dimensional relationships not shown on drawings.
- Accepts product using stamp warranty.
- Perform first article inspections (FAI) as required. Assist suppliers in the performance of first article inspections, as required.
- Perform inspection of parts using a wide variety of measuring and inspection equipment, such as optical alignment tools, micrometers, calipers, surface plates, laser tracker, Faro Arm, portable CMM, coordinate measuring system, etc. to ensure product conformity.
- Operates and programs CMM to accommodate inspections that need to be performed
Qualifications
- Must be proficient in advanced mathematics.
- Must be able to interpret complicated drawings, 3D models, specifications, charts, tables, handbook formulas, and a wide range of precision measuring instruments.
- High school diploma or GED required. Additional formal training equivalent to 2 years of college strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in quality assurance.
- Preferred experience with CMM programming/set-up and Faro Arm set-up.
- Must have proficient computer skills including Microsoft office.
