The field-based District Manager (DM) position at Edustaff is ideal for a motivated and independent professional who enjoys local travel, diverse responsibilities, and collaborating with school administrators. This role will be assigned to school districts within an assigned region. The DM oversees onboarding and training for various substitute employee classes in public schools and manages district relationships. In addition to core DM responsibilities, this role will help support substitute engagement and communication, targeted recruiting, data collection and trend analysis, and relationship-building with the substitute workforce—all with the goal of improving fill rates and strengthening overall workforce satisfaction across the region.
This role will include local travel to various locations, including district schools and recruiting events.
Responsibilities
1. Leadership and District Management:
- Act as the primary contact for all district inquiries.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from school district administrators & stakeholders.
- Monitor the dispatching system and provide enhanced communication as needed.
- Conduct classroom workshops for new applicants.
- Coordinate documentation flow between assigned districts and corporate office.
2. Relationship Management:
- Establish a strong presence in the designated coverage area.
- Cultivate positive relationships with community and district stakeholders to support district requirements.
- Collaborate with supervisors on addressing concerns within partnering districts.
- Support other District Managers within the assigned region as necessary.
3. Performance Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze substitute utilization data for sharing with district contacts.
- Develop Key Performance Goals and strategies to meet performance targets for
- each district partnership.
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of processes, procedures, and database applications.
- Conduct visits and meetings at school sites with administrators and district personnel.
4. Marketing, Sales & Recruitment:
- Plan and execute recruitment efforts such as job fairs and community events.
- Distribute marketing materials to partnering districts and the community.
- Assist applicants through the application process, including emergency hires when needed.
5. Substitute Engagement & Communication:
- Conduct outbound phone calls to substitutes to build relationships and gather insights on work preferences, motivations, and availability.
- Collect and document qualitative data regarding what motivates substitutes to accept assignments.
- Develop and send strategic text messaging campaigns using varied messaging approaches to increase fill rates.
- Monitor and respond to substitute inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Show appreciation to substitutes through recognition messages, milestone acknowledgements, and proactive outreach.
6. Other Duties:
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, business, or a related field required.
- Strong attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofreading materials.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in confidently presenting and engaging with new individuals.
- Uphold high ethical standards, integrity, and confidentiality.-
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to travel to various locations up to 75% of the time.
