Step into a pivotal role at the heart of the City of Wichita’s library system as a part-time Clerk I in Collection Services. This position ensures that library materials are accurately processed, maintained, and accessible to the public, directly supporting the library’s mission to educate, inform, and inspire the community. Beyond shelving and organizing materials, the part-time Clerk I engages with library patrons, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards for collection accuracy and presentation. This role adds value by ensuring seamless library operations, enabling staff and patrons to access resources efficiently, and contributing to a welcoming, organized, and engaging learning environment.
Responsibilities:

Provide courteous and efficient customer service in person and by phone

Assist patrons with general library services

Shelve materials accurately and maintain orderly collections through regular shelf-reading

Perform materials handling tasks including sorting, organizing, and loading carts

Support general upkeep of the library and assist with special projects or other duties as assigned
