Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
Location: Concord, MA
Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks with Possible Extension
Shift: Night Shift | 4x10-Hour Shifts
Schedule: 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
Weekend Requirement: Every Third Weekend
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join a hospital laboratory team in Concord, Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical laboratory experience, prior travel assignment experience, and a commitment to accurate and timely laboratory testing.
This opportunity is well suited for a seasoned traveler who is comfortable working independently on night shifts and delivering high-quality diagnostic laboratory services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and complex laboratory testing according to established procedures and quality standards.
- Process and analyze patient specimens accurately and efficiently.
- Perform testing across applicable laboratory departments based on competency and department needs.
- Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Perform quality control procedures and ensure testing meets established accuracy and reliability standards.
- Review and verify laboratory results before reporting.
- Identify critical or abnormal results and follow appropriate notification procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation and laboratory records.
- Follow CLIA, CAP, OSHA, infection prevention, and facility safety requirements.
- Maintain specimen integrity through proper collection, processing, handling, and storage.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical Laboratory Technician experience – Required.
- Previous travel experience – Required.
- ASCP certification or equivalent national certification – Required.
- Strong knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures, specimen processing, and quality control.
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage a high-volume workload.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Schedule Details
- 4x10-hour night shifts
- 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 40 hours per week
- Every third weekend required
- 13-week assignment with potential for extension.
