JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the fundraising expansion of Davis Health System Foundation and Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. Leads fund raising goals and efforts to support programs by coordinating and attending fund raising events, managing distribution of funds, grants, scholarships and daily operations, and evaluating the effectiveness of programs. Reports to the Executive Director of Philanthropy & CAO of Davis Health System, or designee.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education : Bachelor’s Degree; Master's Preferred.
Experience/Physical Requirements : Three (3) – Five (5) years’ experience in fundraising and/or marketing or communications. Proven track record of planning and initiating successful fundraising strategies or an equivalent there of. Previous experience in health care administration is preferred. Microsoft Office Software.
Ability to work independently with minimum of direct supervision. Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Self-motivated. Ability to focus and manage multiple tasks/projects concurrently.

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Engage and solicit private philanthropic support for the Davis Health System Foundation (DHSF) and SJMH including leadership, annual, and planned giving. The Development Officer (D.O.) will utilize and coordinate several outreach activities to identify and engage prospective donors including personal contact, electronic and social media, direct mail and special events.
2. Identify, select, and manage a portfolio of potential prospects in order to expand the System’s philanthropic support from a regional, local and selected corporate/foundation prospect pool. Emphasis on face-to-face contact with prospects and donors, including travel as needed. Meets quantifiable goals established for each fiscal year.
3. Works closely with the DHSF Board of Directors to increase philanthropic support and provides regular updates to appropriate audiences on progress of the Foundation’s mission, objectives, and annual goals.
4. Builds and maintains long-term relationships with key and prospective donors.
5. Actively participates in the Grateful Patient Program.
6. Promotes cooperation and collaboration amongst the leadership team in achieving specific goals of the Foundation.
7. Prepares and proposes the Foundation’s annual budget in conjunction with the Finance Dpt.
8. Oversees and approves communications materials before final printing/release to make sure they adhere to the Foundation’s desired message and image, to include annual and quarterly reports, newsletters, fundraising letters, event flyers, press releases, and other marketing and advertising materials.
9. Participates in senior staff meetings and initiatives as requested.
10. Coordinates activities and messaging with marketing.
11. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures.
12. Supports quality assessment and performance improvement processes.
13. Adheres to safety, environmental and infection control standards.
14. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, review of current literature, attendance in in-service meetings, and workshops.
15. Attends meetings as required.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.
